The 1992 Cricket World Cup was the tournament that marks the start of modern cricket. Games played under floodlights, colourful kits, and of course some great teams and individual players, all the glitz of the modern game started here!
The kits of the tournament became instantly recognisable, the West Indies kit was the least pastel of them all, going to a deep red synonymous with the Islands’ collective crest. At this time the West Indies glory era of cricket was heading towards its end, 15 years unbeaten in a test match, as recorded in the superb Fire In Babylon documentary.
