Deltic 55 Socks are inspired by the prototype for the Deltic Class 55 Trains. The engine was a diesel locomotive and were the most powerful engines of their kind in the world at the time of manufacture in 1960s Britain. The engines ran for 22 years, on the East Coast Mainline between Edinburgh and Kings Cross before being replaced by the Inter City 125. We thought it only right to look at the precursor to the trains of our youth specially with such stunning design influenced by the huge American bulldog nosed engines of the era. The Socks take inspiration from the prototype engine made by English Electric and the lovely cream and blue colours they used with some exceptional details.
The socks are made from 80% cotton, 19% polyamide and 1% elastine in Portugal..
Every order comes with Sock Council postcard
