It was owing entirely to my friendship with the Edinburgh based East Midlander @PeteSwift1 that I found myself in the Village of Hathern, Leicestershire last weekend. I joined him on a trip home to catch up with his old friends and family, visit his local pub The Dew Drop Inn and drive an hour to Rotherham to pay for the privilege of watching his beloved Notts County have their pants pulled down and get flamboyantly pumped.
Hathern is a picturesque little place situated a couple of miles north of Loughborough, which whilst not being famous for a great deal, can still provide plenty for the locals to take pride in.
